Brooke Barker continues to play well as she led all scorers with 21 points but it wasn't enough as the Wasps fell to Bridgewater 50-62 in ODAC action. Whitney Henderson scored 10 while grabbing 6 boards. Amy Hensley scored 9, Shannon Brown had 4 assists and 1 steal. Kat Brandt led all rebounders with 7, Lauren Birdsell grabbed 6.

E/H avenges a 15 point road loss to EMU as the Wasps defeat them here at the King Center 55-52. Brooke Barker continues to do well as she led all scorers with 16 points, while Kate Childress was close behind with 15 points. Barker also led E/H with 7 boards and 4 assists. Megan Gowan picked up 5 rebounds as did Childress, while Shannon Brown recored 4 boards and 4 steals. E/H will host Bridgewater tomorrow at 4 pm.
Rand.-Macon-72, E/H-68
E/H plays a close one vs. the #11 team in the nation. Nationally ranked Randolph-Macon holds on as they defeat the Wasps 72-68 in ODAC action. Macon has won 12 in a row now and is 19-1 overall. For the Wasps they were led by Shannon Brown's 17 and Brooke Barkers 16 points. Brown was 7 of 8 from the field, while Barker was 4 of 6 from behind the arch. Kate Childress scores 13 with 5 assists. Lauren Birdsell grabs 12 rebounds and scores 6, while Kat Brandt grabs 7 boards and scores 6. E/H will next host Eastern Mennonite next Saturday at 4 pm.
VWC-83, E/H-75
VWC upsets the Wasps 83-75. Brooke Barker led E/H with 23 points, while Kate Childress scores 14, as does Amy Hensley. Barker had 9 rebounds while Laurn Birdsell grabbed 8 boards and put in 6 points. E/H will travel to Randolph-Macon tomorrow for a 2:00 pm game.
E/H-69, Wash. / Lee-66
Brooke Barker hits the game winning 3-pointer with 9 seconds to give the Wasps a 69-66 victory over the Generals of W/L. E/H has won 5 of their last 6 over the last two weeks. Barker led the Wasps with 16 points and 6 rebounds on the night, Kate Childress scored 15. Kat Brandt grabbed 11 rebounds in helping to lead E/H to a 47-40 edge on the boards. Brandt also scored 8 points, Amy Hensley and Shannon Brown each scored 8 as well. E/H will travel to VWC this Saturday.
E/H-76, RMWC-61
E/H has now won four of their last five games as they made amends to an earlier season loss to Rand. Macon Womans College. E/H defeated the Wildcats by the score of 76-61. Kate Childress and Brooke Barker led the Wasps with 14 points each. Childress dished out 7 assists while grabbing 8 rebounds. Lauren Birdsell had 9 rebounds and a career high 5 steals on the night as she also scored 10 points. Amy Hensley came out of her slump as she was 3 of 3 from 3- point range on her way to scoring 12 points. E/H will host Washington / Lee Univ. this coming Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
E/H-71, Guilford-52
After being down by 5 at the half, E/H comes out strong with a 42-18 second half performance to defeat the Guilford Quakers 71-52. E/H is now 9-6 overall and 6-4 in the ODAC. Kate Childress and Lauren Birdsell each fell one rebound short of having a double-double. Childress scored 23 points, dished out 6 assists and grabbed 9 rebounds. Birdsell scored 12 while also grabbing 9 rebounds. Brooke Barker scored 11 points and Whitney Henderson led all rebounders with 10 on the night. E/H will host RMWC this Saturday at 4:00 pm.
EMU-66, E/H-41
E/H was no match for the Lady Royals of Eastern Mennonite. The Royals defeated the Wasps 66-41 and outrebounded the leagues top rebounding team 54-35. For the Wasps Kate Childress led E/H with 13 points and 5 steals, while Sarah Worden scored 9. Lauren Birdsell led with 8 rebounds. E/H will host Guilford this Tuesday at 7:00 pm
E/H-49, Bridgewater-48
E/H defeats Bridgewater 49-48 as Shannon Brown's 2-point goal with 43 seconds gave the Wasps the victory. E/H outscored the Eagles 18-6 during an 8 minute period midway thru the second half. Brown scored 10 points on the night. Kate Childress led all E/H scorers with 15. Childress also led with 4 assists on the night. Brown had two assists and led E/H with 9 rebounds, while she connected on 4 of 9 from the field. Kat Brandt had 8 rebounds and 5 points. E/H will remain on the road as they play at E. Mennonite tomorrow at 4 pm.
E/H-85, Averett-58
Brooke Barker has another fine game as she led the Wasps with 19 points in route to a 85-58 victory over Averett Univ. Barker also had 11 rebounds and 4 assists on the night. Kate Childress had 8 assists and 7 points, while Shannon Brown had 3 steals and 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field. Kat Brandt had 12 points and was perfect from the field 3/3 on the foul line 6/6. Gaily Lapitan had 7 rebounds and 4 assists on the night.
Randolph-Macon-76, E/H-56
E/H plays well but falls to nationally ranked Randolph-Macon by the count of 76-56. Macon is currently ranked 18th in the nation with a 11-1 record. For the Wasps Brooke Barker led E/H with 19 points. Sarah Worden collected 11 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 8 points for the Wasps. E/H will host Averett this Tuesday at 7 pm.

Kate Childress scores a career high 27 points as E/H defeats Va. Wesleyan 70-59 in ODAC action.
Roanoke-67, E/H-51
Roanoke defeats E/H 67-51 in E/H's first game after the break. Amy Hensley led the Wasps with 9 points while Kate Childress, Whitney Henderson, Brooke Barker and Kat Brandt each scored 8. Henderson led E/H with 9 rebounds, while Barker had 4 assists. E/H will host Va. Wesleyan on Saturday (4 pm) and Randolph-Macon on Sunday (4 pm).
E/H-83, Guilford-72
E/H gets its third conference win of the season as they defeat Guilford College 83-72 on the road. Kate Childress led all scorers with 23 points. She also had 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Brooke Barker scored 11 while Amy Hensley had 10 points and a career high 8 assists. Whitney Henderson and Kat Brandt scored 9 points each.
E/H-71, Hollins-55
E/H defeats ODAC foe Hollins Univ. 71-55 here Thursday night. With a wide range of scorers Brooke Barker led the Wasps with 11 points. Whitney Henderson and Katherine Brandt each scored nine, while Lauren Birdsell and Amy Hensley scored 8. E/H outrebounded Hollins by a very wide margin 55-27 as Kate Childress, Whitney Henderson and Brooke Barker led the way with 7 boards each. Childress also had 7 assists on the night. E/H will travel to Guilford this Saturday.
RMWC-87, EHC-85 {1-ot}
E/H goes 1-1 for the weekend road trip, losing a heart breaking OT loss at RMWC. Five individuals score in double figures for the Wasps; Kate Childress-17, Katie Klik-16, Kat Brandt-13, Shannon Brown-10 and Brooke Barker-10. E/H will host Hollins this Thursday at 7 pm.

Shannon Brown scores a career high 18 points as E/H gets a big 57-54 come from behind road win at Lynchburg College. Kate Childress recorded a double/double with her 13 points and 11 rebounds. Brooke Barker scored 14 points. E/H will play at RMWC this Saturday at 3:00 pm.
Greensboro-77, E/H-45
E/H connects on only 25% of their shots from the field and only 48% from the foul line as Greensboro demolishes the Wasps 77-45. Greensboro is the USA South Conf. preseason pick #1. Katherine Brandt led E/H with 10 points and 8 boards. E/H will travel to Lynchburg this weekend to face ODAC foes Lynchburg Coll. and Rand.-Macon Womans College.
E/H to host the second annual Tipoff Tournament. The tournament will serve as a benefit for the American Cancer Society, Sponsored by the Abingdon Rotary Club in memory of Coach Fred Selfe. This years lineup E/H will host John Carroll, Methodist and Sewanee.
John Carroll-87, E/H-63
Powerful John Carroll defeats E/H 87-63 in the finals of the E/H/Cancer Society Tipoff tournament. JC shot 59% from the field and 70% from 3-point range. For the Wasps they were led by Kate Childress scoring 22 points and Brooke Barker chipping in 14 while Amy Hensley scored 10 on the afternoon. Whitney Henderson and Kat Brandt each grabbed 4 boards each ..... Childress and Hensley were named to the All-Tournament team for E/H.
E/H-63, Methodist-53
Defense was the name of the game as the Swarming Wasps collected 24 steals on the afternoon. Shannon Brown led E/H with 5 while, Kate Childress, Amy Hensley and Sarah Worden collected 4 steals each. E/H was paced by Kate Childress in scoring with 16 points, Amy Hensley scored 9 and Kat Brandt scored 8. Freshman post players Sarah Worden and Lauren Birdsell each grabbed 7 boards. E/H will play John Carroll in Saturday's Championship game, scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm
